The complete route of communists in Tripura, wash out of Congress in Tripura and Nagaland and in don’t-look-at-congress attitudes of non-Congress parties in Meghalaya would go a long way in north-eastern states to join our national mainstream. The victory of BJP has sent shock waves in the heart of communists and perhaps, Rahul would have smelt the victory of BJP and had gone in advance before the election result to hug is grandmother. At least we must be happy that he understood the power of hug after attacking Modi over hug-diplomacy.
For so many decades, the Congress and Communists won elections, but never cared to talk about developments and growth. The Congress party treated North eastern states as its own backyard and never bothered to develop the state. Instead of looking upon election victory as an opportunity to serve people and nation, these parties –Congress and Communists-have taken people for granted. The Congress party is no more a national party, it is a regional party and the Congress has become a family business with dynastic set up. The Election Commission should consider its status, whether it is a national party or regional party.
On the other hand, the victory of BJP would go a long way for our national unity and integrity. From zero, the party had built its cadres with national spirit and consciousness cutting across castes and creeds. It is not a small achievement and it is good for our national spirit, when Hindus are divided on the basis of castes wantedly by secular forces and non-communists are least respected by Communist leaders in Tripura. Those who think that BJP is a cow-party, have to eat their own words and performance of BJP in three states have completely reduced the Congress party to regional party status.
The victory for BJP may a great success for BJP from the political aspect. But more than political victory, the victory of BJP is a victory for national forces and it is a defeat for pseudo secularists. Many looked upon Meghalaya as the land of Christian Missionaries and the Congress party was very happy in branding that way. In spite of some Christian Missionaries sending letters to “believers” to vote against BJP, the defeat of Congress is very important. The time has come for Christian Missionaries to treat religion as a relationship between an individual and the Lord, instead of treating it as an organisation to establish the Kingdom of God and convert Hindus.
It is amazing that BJP could get two seats in Meghalaya. The Christian Missionaries have openly started their real activities publicly in opposing BJP. They started the business of writing letters to the faithful to vote against BJP, in particular Modi.
The victory of BJP should instil dynamism in governance with transparency and corruption free environment. Ever since the NDA came to power, the central government is focusing on developments in north eastern states and Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP now has more responsibility and take efforts to see that the developments reach the poor and ordinary. The vikas oriented policies would put an end to vote-bank politics, expose pseudo secularism and pseudo-secularists. The victory of BJP, is a victory of national forces and national integrity.
