In a bowl, take some chopped jaggery or brown sugar powder and water. You can add water as required. If you want you can add 2 tablespoons lemon juice or juice of 1 medium sized lemon.Next add little bit of ginger powder cardamom powder, black pepper powder and a pinch of salt.
If offering panakam to deities then you can add edible camphor. Mix very well.And while offering to God , all couple of Basil ( Tulasi ) leaves.
Rinse moong lentils a couple of times in water. Then soak the lentils for 1 to 2 hours. If in a hurry, then you can soak moong lentils in hot water for 30 minutes. Later drain all the water very well and add the soaked moong lentils in a bowl. Add finely chopped cucumber,some fresh grated coconut, taoriander leaves and a green chili (chopped). Instead of green chilies, you can use black pepper powder if you want squeeze some lemon juice. Mix everything very well.
NEER MOORU (Buttermilk)
You can Chop ginger, green chilly, coriander and curry leaves very finely.
In a deep large bowl, place the thick curd.
Beat the curd smoothly and add all the other items including salt and a pinch of asafoetida raw
Add water and mix well. If needed, you can squeeze lemon.
