Today (Aug 15th) Indian Independence Day we friends hoped up together in the morning and went to Consulate General of India, in Toronto Canada where the celebration happened… Bharat got Azadhi (freedom) from the slavery of British because of the sacrifice of millions of Freedom fighters who laid their life for the freedom of the generations to come. It was an incredible celebration in Toronto.
Consulate General Mr.Dinesh Bhatia unfurled Indian Tri Color & read Rashtrapati Bhavan address to nation on 70th anniversary of Independence Day. And also flag hoisting ceremony was held on the occasion of 70th Independence Day of India at the Indian Consulate office in Toronto in full fervour. The hall was packed with hundreds of Indians, Persons of Indian origin and friends of India.
All Indians, Persons of Indian origin and friends of India assembled in Toronto’s Indian Consulate to attend the ceremony. This celebration is not just about India’s 71st Independence Day, it’s also about celebrating the world’s oldest civilisation and diversity .Today’s celebration is about celebrating India in its full diversity and to salute our country of origin. Old, young and children were dressed in traditional as well as in formal attires from different walks of life like from media, industry, business celebrated the occasion cheered.
Consulate General also receive felicitated Indian team winning 36 medals in WORLD DWARF GAMES 2017. August 4th – 12th, 2017 at Guelph. This made each one of us present in the hall proud. We were so proud to meet the Champions from Bharat.
The Niagara falls which is the world’s most breathtaking waterfalls, will be illuminated in saffron, white and green on August 15th night to mark the 71st Independence Day of India as a way of Canada expressing their bond with Bharat.
