“When the world was at an under developed state, Mother India’s children started the acceleration of noble civilisation on this earth. Subsequent to the Vedic period came the Upanishadic period. Ved Vyas ji, a great soul appeared and presented all the holy books containing vast knowledge and wisdom in written form. This great wealth of tradition and spiritual life was presented in the ancient and oldest language of the world, Sanskrit,”. Following the Upanishadic period came the Pauranic and then Ramayana period. In this phase we saw the blueprint of good governance in the International Constitution of Rama Rajya.
A glorious chapter in our eternal Sanatan Dharma is in the life and message of Sri Krishna who came for the protection of Dharma, righteousness (dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge). A universal message can proceed only from a universal man hence the Gita expounds in words what its author expressed in life and action. In his life we also saw the great Mahabharata. For the protection of the good some great souls were also lost in this period. “As an epitome of peace Mahatma Buddha emerged and gave the great scientific philosophy for life and creation with the message of compassion. Buddhist philosophy permeated half the world”. In this continuous flow of our tradition, foreigners entered and infiltrated India. The ideal network of social structure and spiritual life started to be destroyed by the invasion of the Mogul period. However in the guidance of stalwart warriors and heroes of India this regime became weak.
“In history many foreign and ethnic groups entered into India but they were all digested by Vedic Hindu Culture. The Mogul period was not ready to blend into the Vedic Culture”. This glorious culture also suffered the onslaught of the Britishers who entered and started to destroy the education system, economic progress and norm and standards of life. There was a weakening in the cultural tradition but on the stage of Vedic Hindu culture life revitalisation occurred. And, under the stimulus of the modern national renaissance, whose outstanding sponsors and leaders-Raja Ram Mohan, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Ramtirth, Maharishi Raman, Tagore and Ghandhi came with new light and removed all the clouds that covered our Hindu Vedic culture and philosophy,”.
At last, in this period our forefathers came out of India to the Indian Diaspora. From Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madras, Calcutta and Bombay they travelled to Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Guyana, Fiji, Mauritius, Malaysia etc. Now their children have settled in Europe, UK, USA, New Zealand, Africa, Australia and in all continents of the globe. In more than 180 countries we find the presence of pure Hindu thoughts and propagation of Universal Religion by many big organisations.
“Our forefathers who came as indentured labourers in the Indian Diaspora are now prominent in all the leading fields in setting up the infrastructure and infrastructure in the societies, communities and countries in which they have settled. We find their valuable contribution in the Education, Economic, Political, Social and Spiritual sectors.”
From the Vedic period to now Sanatan Dharma struggled and tolerated the torture and sufferings in India and out of India. This suffering was more than the Jews had in the period of Hitler. In recent times the culture even felt the blow of conversion, a great violence on the Hindu tradition. Organisations like the RSS and World Council of Hindus realized this oppressive danger and appeared on the stage to help the Hindu Diaspora. “Sanatan Hindu Dharma is now silently and peacefully influencing the Western world with the thoughts of Reincarnation, Vegetarianism, Family Structure and Values, Meditation & Yoga. Swami Yogananda, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Satya Sai Baba, Swami Sachidananda Ganapathi, Swami Shivananda came in the recent past as breaths of fresh air and gave new life to the Hindu Diaspora in the whole world.
At present in Trinidad and Tobago, Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, Kabir Panth, Arya Samaj, NCIC, Swaha, Divine Life Society, Chinmaya Mission, Dattatreya Center, Brahma Vidya Peetham, Hindu Prachar Kendra, ISKCON and all Pundits and so many organisations are giving light and nurturing the growth of the Hindu Diaspora. They are all helping to make enlightened citizens, to develop patriotism and unity (side by side we stand) and make a good man and society. “From California to Colombo, Moscow to Mauritius, Bali to Bombay, New York to New Delhi and the Caribbean to Calcutta, the different and beautiful rainbow colour of Hinduism has emerged on the horizon of the global arena. Today all the philosophies of Hindu Dharma touches the heart of all people, changing the way of lives and forms and inextricable part of the larger spiritual, social and cultural fabric of the globe.
“It is not a sect and is free from fundamentalism, terrorism and violence. Sanatan Dharma embraces and spreads love to all castes, creeds, communities and countries”. This is the journey of Hindu history through pre modern, modern and post modern period. Even in the struggle period Hindus lived with great conviction with the firm belief of Satya Meva Jayate, truth always win.
