By Sridhar-Kausalya Iyengar Shashtiabdapoorthi (60th Birthday) Celebration was a great event. Not because of how grand it was which it was. Also in a Dharmic way how it was celebrated. Every one of the friends who were invited to the event felt blessed. It was a fun filled gathering to catchup with friends and families for sure, but more than that was how each one of them became the part of the Vishnu Sahasranama Havan that took place.
Best thing to see there was all the youngsters including Sri Sridhar-Kausalya’s children participated in the Havan and saying shloka etc. Also their parents and other friends abroad must have been very thankful for the technology as they could watch the entire Shashtiabdapoorthi celebration by Facebook live.
This event was celebrated in their traditional Tamil Iyengar wedding style and in the way of Sanatan Dharma where not only havan, Veda Parayanam were done but also the lunch was served on Banana leaf. That is something. I’m sure many of the youngsters there must have experience of their life time.
